About Lower
LOWER was founded in 2001 in a small flat in Mount Maunganui by Jake Pyne, a visionary rooted
in both Aotearoa and the USA. From the start, Jake set out to fuse the cultural rhythms of the two lands he has called home.
For over 20 years, we have been blending our love for hip-hop, reggae, surf and skate as the catalyst for our creative work - channelling the mix of raw authenticity of these influences into every thread we create.
Our gear is built for wear. We're proud to provide 100% cotton tees and sweatshirts that last season after season. We don’t cut corners, striving to produce the highest quality soft goods on the market.
Over the years, we’ve teamed up with heavy hitters like Champion, Jansport, and G-Shock, proving that a small-town brand can play with the big dogs. But we’re just as proud of our collaborations with local businesses that celebrate the imaginations of our tight-knit community.
